ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On September 22 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Shadowood Apartments on Louisiana Avenue in Lake Charles regarding a report of a disturbance.

While en route, deputies were advised that the suspect, later identified as Alfred B. Wyckoff, Jr., 23, Lake Charles, had left the scene. While patrolling the area of Sunset Drive, deputies observed several men running away from a vehicle in the roadway. When deputies approached the vehicle, they observed Wyckoff had what looked to be a black pistol hanging out of the driver’s side window. Wyckoff then fled from the deputy in his vehicle and continued driving towards the intersection of South Park Road and Smith Road, running several stop signs.

After stopping the vehicle, Wyckoff abandoned it and fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, and was apprehended moments later after emerging from the woods.

During a search of the vehicle Wyckoff was driving, deputies recovered a loaded black 9mm pistol on the driver’s side floor board.

Wyckoff was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with aggravated assault; aggravated flight from an officer; and resisting by flight.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $3,500.
