ERIC SCOTT RADIO | LAKE CHARLES, LA — On September 14, shortly before noon, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Prison correctional officers discovered an inmate who was unconscious and appeared to be severely beaten. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was subsequently transferred to a Lafayette hospital for treatment of neurological injuries, including head trauma, facial fractures, and contusions, and is currently in critical condition.

Further investigation revealed inmates John M. Baudoin, 30, Zachary Q. England, 19, and James J. Julian, 26, entered the victim’s cell and repeatedly stomped and beat the victim unconscious. Baudoin, England, and Julian have all been re-arrested and charged with attempted 2nd degree murder.

Baudoin is currently incarcerated and sentenced to seven years for a probation violation (3 cts. burglary) and has been in jail since January 2011. England is currently incarcerated and sentenced to 12 years for burglary and has been in jail since May 2010. Julian is currently incarcerated and sentenced to five years for DWI 3rd since March 2010.

The victim has been incarcerated since June 2011 for a probation violation.

Judge David Ritchie set all their bonds at $250,000 each.
