CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR 2ND DEGREE BATTERY

Eric Scott Radio has learned in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 17, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Festival City nightclub in Lake Charles in reference to a man being knocked unconscious and robbed in the parking lot.

When deputies arrived, the victim advised deputies he noticed James L. Parker, Jr., 29, 710 Kingsley Street, Lake Charles, approaching him in the parking lot then was struck in the head with an unknown object, knocking him unconscious. While the victim was on the ground unconscious, Parker robbed the victim and fled the scene.

An arrest warrant was issued for Parker by CPSO detectives and on July 22, Parker was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nd degree robbery.

Parker was just released from jail this month after serving a sentence on an unauthorized entry conviction and is on parole until August 2013.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $30,000.

CPSO Detective Billy Spees is the lead investigator on this case.
