Eric Scott Radio has just learned from KPLCTV authorities are investigating a shooting that happened around noon on Friday at the Ross Dress for Less at the Prien Lake Plaza shopping center in Lake Charles.

LCPD Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says there are two victims with unknown injuries. One of the victims was transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for treatment. The other was taken to Christus St. Patrick Hospital. One is in critical condition – the other is in serious condition. A suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting. That arrest was reportedly made at the Whitney Bank location on Ryan Street. Deputy Chief Kraus adds they believe that the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. One witness in the store did tell us, “we heard some lady say ‘oh [expletive]’, and it sounded like a balloon popped.”

A manager at Ross Dress for Less confirms that the store will be closed for the rest of the day. No word on when they will reopen.
