Eric Scott Radio has just learned that on July 14, around 8:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Claude Hebert Road in Lake Charles regarding a report of a burglary that occurred the day before.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised them his home was burglarized and a television, a 12 gauge shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle were stolen. The victim revealed that Patrick S. Meyers, 25, 25163 Highway 42, Holden, Louisiana, who is an acquaintance, had been staying at his home for a few days before the burglary.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim who advised them his home was burglarized and a television, a 12 gauge shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle were stolen. The victim revealed that Patrick S. Meyers, 25, 25163 Highway 42, Holden, Louisiana, who is an acquaintance, had been staying at his home for a few days before the burglary.

During the investigation, Meyers confirmed to detectives that he forcibly entered the victim’s house and stole the items. He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with simple burglary; theft over $500; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The television and two firearms were recovered and returned to the owner.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $8,000.
